It may be less suitable where the pool is heavily shaded, collector space is very limited or the expectation is warm water every day through a cold winter. That does not always rule solar out, but it may change the recommended system size or point to a combined heating approach.

A good decision starts with realistic expectations and a site-specific recommendation. Measure your pool, note when the roof receives sun and think honestly about when you want to swim.
